Sheila Egan has dedicated over two decades to the field of Audiovisual (AV) in Education. Starting as an AV Apprentice in Further Education (FE), she has risen to her current position as AV Design Principal at University College London (UCL). Sheila’s passion lies in ensuring that user experiences take centre stage in AV decisions. She also evaluates post-installation scenarios to enhance design choices. Sheila’s work revolves around the intersection of pedagogy, space, and technology in the education sector.
Sheila recently oversaw the completion of UCL’s latest education building, Marshgate, situated in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park as part of UCL East. This impressive facility features a harmonious blend of standard, executive, and lab-based learning spaces, along with work and meeting areas, catering to UCL’s present and future teaching requirements.
