WHERE WE CAME FROM

When the AV Awards launched in 1999, there was no other publication or industry organisation in Europe recognising the excellence and innovation of the AV, events and production industry.

Since then the AV Awards has helped define and raise industry standards and become the most talked about event in the AV calendar across the globe.

In 2018, the AV Award’s celebrated its 20th anniversary. To celebrate, the AV Awards got a new look, we put on a high-tech production to give the best experience to our industry and innovative technologies and creations helped bring it to life by our sponsors. We also received a record-breaking number of entries and sell out event enjoyed by almost 1,400 key industry professionals.

THE NEW ERA

Now, we are now celebrating our 21st event. While our aim for the event remains the same, we realise our need to adapt, evolve and set a path for the future of the AV Awards and most importantly, for the industry.

In order to futureproof the AV Awards for the next 20 years, we wanted to ensure our system is robust, transparent and reflects the entire industry. To do this, we laid all our cards on the table. We invited key industry professionals from across the channel and end-user community to a series of steering groups for a thorough review of the AV Awards venue, judging process, criteria and categories to make sure we’re judging in the right way, and are on message with the criteria and categories.

The results? New venue. New categories. New criteria. New look.

We couldn’t be more excited to bring you the best ever AV Awards 2019 yet – bring it on Battersea Evolution!
